What Is The Core Difference Between Common And Transparent Filler Masterbatch?
Ordinary filler masterbatch mostly uses heavy calcium carbonate or talcum powder as filler. These powders have strong covering power, low cost, but will reduce light transmittance obviously, only fit opaque plastic products like woven bags, thick injection parts and garbage films. Transparent filler masterbatch adopts high-purity barium sulfate or precipitated sodium sulfate raw materials. Their refractive index is close to PP/PE resin, so they will not form a foggy haze inside plastic products after addition. They can maintain high transparency and bright surface gloss, which is applicable to food transparent packaging films, thin transparent bottles and clear plastic sheets.
Dispersion is the most critical indicator for filler masterbatch quality. Poor dispersion leads to frequent screen blockage during film blowing, granular bumps on product surfaces and broken thin films. Simple detection methods: First, melt a small amount of masterbatch with pure PE particles and blow thin film manually; no tiny white spots or coarse particles on the film surface means good dispersion. Second, observe the residue on the extruder filter screen after continuous production; few large powder agglomerates prove stable dispersion performance. Our products adopt imported high-efficiency dispersants and high-shear twin-screw processing to guarantee uniform powder distribution.

Our full series filler masterbatch adapts to almost all kinds of plastic molding processes: Film blowing (packaging bags, agricultural mulch film), injection molding (plastic containers, hardware shells), blow molding (plastic bottles, cans), extrusion (plastic pipes, sheets, profiles), wire and cable outer cladding, and woven product extrusion coating. Different grades have adjusted lubrication formulas. For example, film-grade masterbatch adds more smooth additives to avoid film traction fracture; injection-grade enhances rigidity improvers for thick wall parts.

Calcium carbonate general filler masterbatch: 10%–40% (woven bags, thick films, injection parts can
Talc filler masterbatch: 8%–30% (mainly for heat resistant, high rigidity injection plastic)
BaSO4 & Na2SO4 transparent filler masterbatch: 5%~18% (excessive addition will slightly reduce transparency)

High-quality standard filler masterbatch with reasonable formula will not shorten product service life. We add anti-oxidants and light stabilizers inside to slow plastic aging. Low-cost inferior masterbatch uses unpurified coarse mineral powder and cheap recycled carrier resin; large powder particles will form internal stress points inside plastic, accelerating cracking and aging under sunlight or cold-hot alternation. Our products pass SGS aging resistance tests and keep stable mechanical performance for long-term use.
Yes, filler masterbatch can be used synchronously with black, white or color masterbatch. We recommend mixing three materials evenly: pure plastic pellets + filler masterbatch + color masterbatch before feeding into the extruder. The filler masterbatch itself has neutral white base tone, which will not interfere with color rendering of color masterbatch. If you need ultra-bright color surfaces, we can adjust the filler formula to reduce fine powder’s slight covering influence on color saturation.
Three main reasons: First, inferior filler powder contains iron oxide impurities, which turn yellow under high processing temperature; second, the carrier resin uses poor-quality recycled plastic with unstable heat resistance; third, insufficient anti-yellowing antioxidant additives in the masterbatch formula. Our raw mineral materials go through iron removal and purification processes, paired with new PP/PE carrier resin and high-temperature resistant antioxidants, effectively preventing yellowing during high-temperature extrusion and long-term storage.
